What is Aquatic Safety?
Aquatic Safety refers to the procedures, precautions, and policies associated in, on, and around Manatee County Public Safety Aquatic Facilities where there is a risk of injury or drowning. We have layers of protection such as access to Life jackets and close supervision of children and adults to prevent drowning. Also, the knowledge, training, and experience in what to do in a water or pool deck emergency, including how to assist a guest in trouble, call for emergency help and perform CPR. Aquatic Safety uses a proactive approach to avert incidents and emergencies by staying vigilant, conducting swim tests for guests, staff audits per American Red Cross, in-service activities, avoiding distractions, and staying vigilant. Practicing water safety can save lives and ensure that water activities are safe and enjoyable for all guests.
