What is the Manatee County Health Care Plan?
The Manatee County Health Care Plan is for residents having limited household income, are uninsured, and do not qualify for Medicaid. The Plan is not insurance but a program designed to help eligible residents get medical care.
Program Overview
Do I qualify?
You must:
- Be 18 or older
- Be a current, full-time resident of Manatee County
- Not be eligible for Medicaid or other health insurance
- Have limited household income (under 200% Federal Poverty Level)
How do I enroll?
To enroll, please contact Community & Veterans Services at 941-749-3030.
If you find yourself at one of the following locations, you may also enroll there:
- Manatee Memorial Hospital
- MCR Health
- We Care
- Turning Points
You must provide:
- A valid photo ID
- Proof of residency
- Proof of income
List of Proper Documentation
How long am I eligible?
Once you are deemed eligible, eligibility continues for 180 days from the original determination date.
Are there any fees?
There is no cost to you, no enrollment fees, and no monthly fees.
What does it cover?
The Plan covers a broad range of general health care services:
- Primary Care
- Specialty Care
- Urgent Care
- In-patient Services
- Emergency Room Care
- Diagnostic Tests
The Plan does not cover elective procedures that are not medically necessary and services are that are eligible for payment from another insurance or other funding mechanisms.
