Boley Centers are a not-for-profit organization serving individuals with mental disabilities, the homeless and youth. They provide vocational evaluation, help with “job readiness”, assistance with resumes and interviewing skills, and help finding jobs.

CareerEdge Funders Collaborative – Bridges to Careers program

The Bridges to Careers program provides training assistance and advancement opportunities through educational coursework, college preparation training, and bridge programs for companies with low- and moderate-wage workers to help improve their employability. Also identifies public services and income support to assist in career improvement.

Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is a federal-state program that works with people who have physical or mental disabilities get or keep a job. VR is committed to helping people with disabilities find meaningful careers.

Goodwill Industries/Job Connection

The Goodwill Job Connection and Community Connection programs are designed to help individuals obtain long-term employment or transition to better paying jobs and help those who may not be employment ready improve their skills. The Job Connection provides career counseling, assistance with resume and cover letter writing skills, interview strengthening exercises and application submission guidance to individuals with disabilities, people with limited work history, veterans who are transitioning to civilian life, and workers who have experienced corporate downsizing. The Community Connection provides access and referrals for employment, food, counseling services, technology services, and more. Services are provided both in person and virtually to meet community needs.

Women’s Resource Center of Manatee

The WRC provides assistance with resumes, interviews, career choices, networking and basic computer training. Their “Career Closet” has free clothing for job interviews and the first week on the job. Use their computers to fill out job applications, work on your resume or use the internet. Facilitator will be present for questions. First come, first serve. Feel free to bring your laptop.
