The role of the Criminal Justice Policy Coordinator is to coordinate policies and programs of the various criminal justice agencies within Manatee County in an effort to enhance services, reduce inefficiencies and gaps in the system and promote collaboration between agencies to support the goals and mission of the Board of County Commissioners.
In addition to managing grant funding for relevant criminal justice programs, the Criminal Justice Policy Coordinator serves as staff to various boards and commissions that support the criminal justice system and the mission of the Board of County Commissioners including:
- Public Safety Coordinating Council
- Criminal Justice, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Planning Council
- Juvenile Justice 12th Circuit Advisory Board
- Family Safety Alliance
- Continuum of Care
