We are happy to provide obituary copies by mail or email. We require a
name, date of death, and place of death to be able to locate the
obituary in our archives. If you have a title and page number from a
family history that we have in our collection, we can also scan and mail
or email that to you, but we must have the specific information. We will respond in most cases within two (2) business days but please allow more time for multiple obituaries.
Please email us at [email protected] with the following information:
- Name of deceased
- Date of death (we must have this, or we are unable to perform the search)
- Location (we are unable to perform the search if located outside of Manatee County)
If you do not know an exact date of death, you may wish to call the Historical Records Library who files Manatee County obituaries alphabetically by last name (after 1975 only): 941-741-4070
Obituaries scanned and emailed are free of charge and sent as a PDF file.
Obituaries printed and mailed are charged as follows: $2.00 for mailing within Manatee County and $5.00 for mailing outside of Manatee County. Please send a check or money order made payable to Manatee County Public Library System and your request to:

We are unable to perform in-depth genealogical research but if you require extensive research assistance, you may wish to consult with a professional genealogist from the Association of Professional Genealogists.
