Purpose
To review the established policies and procedures, ordinances, land development regulations, and adopted local government comprehensive plan of the appointing local government and recommend specific actions or initiatives to encourage or facilitate affordable housing while protecting the ability of the property to appreciate in value.
Membership Requirements
There is a maximum of eleven members:
- One citizen actively engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing (Seat #1)
- One citizen actively engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing (Seat #2)
- One citizen representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing (Seat #3)
- One citizen actively engaged as an advocate for low-income persons in connection with affordable housing (Seat #4)
- One citizen actively engaged as a for-profit provider of affordable housing (Seat #5)
- One citizen actively engaged not-for-profit provider of affordable housing (Seat #6)
- One citizen actively engaged as a real estate professional in connection with affordable housing (Seat #7)
- One citizen actively serving on the local planning agency pursuant to Section 163.3174, Florida Statues (Seat #8)
- One citizen resident of Manatee County (Seat #9)
- One citizen representing employers within the jurisdiction (Seat #10)
- One citizen representing essential services personnel (Seat #11)
- One elected official
