What kinds of notifications will I see?
All subscribers to Alert Manatee will receive weather alerts from the National Weather Service. You may also receive:
- Air quality alerts
- Boil water advisories
- Evacuation shelter openings
- Hazardous material incidents
- Evacuation alerts
- Sewage spill notices
- Water outages
How will I know a phone call or email is coming from Alert Manatee?
Email messages will come from Alert Manatee ([email protected]) and phone calls will display (941) 749-3500 on the phone's caller ID.
How do I register?
You can sign up for notifications by creating an account on the Everbridge website, where you can designate how you would like to be contacted. To receive text alerts, you must add your SMS (text message) phone number(s).
Do I need to provide an address or location?
Providing a home or work location is not required. However, you will not receive important localized alerts (such boil water notices) without at least one location in your profile. You are able to add up to 5 addresses in your account. The primary (location 1) should be your home address.
Can I adjust the weather alerts I receive and what time of day they are received?
You may adjust the type of weather alert subscriptions from the National Weather Service you receive and the times to silence those alerts through your Everbridge profile.
What if my contact information changes?
You may update your address or notification information through your Everbridge profile. If you need assistance or at any time wish to be removed, call Manatee County Emergency Management at (941) 749-3500 ext. 1667, or email Candace Kelly.
Will my contact information be shared with others?
No, the information you provide will only be used by Manatee County to send you alerts. Your contact information will never be sold to an outside entity.
